1.5 MOA centre dot
The fine centre dot covers a relatively small part of the target and supports more deliberate aiming.
Holosun ARO-EVO-SPR-RD is a tubular red dot sight featuring Holosun’s red Special Purpose Reticle. It combines a fine 1.5 MOA centre dot, a 65 MOA outer circle, three 1 MOA bullet-drop holdovers and ranging references. A large 26mm viewing window, Solar Failsafe, Shake Awake, automatic brightness control and two included Picatinny mounts make it a versatile aiming system for rifles, shotguns and other compatible platforms.
The defining feature of the ARO-EVO-SPR-RD is its Special Purpose Reticle. This is not simply a red dot surrounded by a decorative circle. Each element serves a practical purpose: the centre dot provides a fine aiming reference, the outer circle speeds up initial acquisition, the holdover dots provide references for different distances and the horizontal markings support approximate range estimation.
The fine centre dot covers a relatively small part of the target and supports more deliberate aiming.
The large circle is quickly recognised by the eye and helps guide the sight picture at close range.
The bullet-drop reference points are positioned below the centre dot for use with verified distance holds.
Horizontal markings support approximate range estimation against a target of known width.
Holding the “–” button for approximately three seconds cycles through four reticle configurations. The user can select a cleaner sight picture or display the additional bullet-drop and ranging references when they are needed.
The centre dot and outer circle provide a clear, quickly recognised aiming picture.
The three 1 MOA holdover points are added for pre-verified distance corrections.
Displays the holdover points and ranging references for the maximum available information.
An uncluttered viewing window with the fine 1.5 MOA centre dot.
The solar panel supports operation and participates in automatic brightness control. When available light is insufficient, the system draws power from the battery.
The illumination enters sleep mode while stationary, then wakes with movement and recalls the last saved brightness setting.
Eight daylight and four night-vision-compatible settings allow the output to be matched to the environment and supporting equipment.
According to the official manual, the sleep delay can be set to 10 minutes, 1 hour or 12 hours, or the sleep function can be disabled. The memory function recalls the last stored brightness setting.
The hard-anodised body combines durability, manageable weight and protection for the electronics.
Holosun states an IPX8 waterproof rating for the ARO-EVO housing.
The manufacturer specifies vibration resistance up to 1000 G.
Windage and elevation travel is ±50 MOA, with adjustments graduated in 0.5 MOA clicks.
The video presents the ARO-EVO design and shows how the extended SPR reticle combines rapid acquisition, bullet-drop references and range estimation.
Read the complete official manual before installation and initial use. It covers reticle selection, brightness modes, Shake Awake settings, battery replacement, mounting, zeroing and routine care.

A red SPR reticle with a 1.5 MOA centre dot, 65 MOA outer circle, three 1 MOA BDC holdovers and ranging references.
Yes. Holding the “–” button cycles through four display configurations, from the centre dot to the complete SPR reticle.
The factory calibration is based on M193 5.56 ammunition at 3050 fps, with references for approximately 300, 400 and 500 yards.
It can be installed on various compatible platforms, but the BDC references will not automatically match a different trajectory. Actual holds must be verified.
No. The sight operates independently at 1×. A magnifier makes the finer BDC and ranging elements easier to read.
The supplied low and raised mounts attach to a compatible Picatinny rail.
No. The CR2032 is housed in a side-loading tray that can be removed without taking the sight off its mount.
Holosun states up to 50,000 hours at setting 6. Actual runtime depends on brightness, operating mode, movement, temperature and battery quality.
This is an intentional design feature that allows the LED light to be reflected and form the visible reticle.
Holosun specifies an IPX8 waterproof rating and vibration resistance up to 1000 G.
